Curtains can soften daylight or block it almost entirely. They can frame a view, create privacy, absorb sound, bring warmth, or change the way a window feels within the room. Sheers and heavier curtains can work together, each taking a different role through the day. None of this is a rule, and no room needs all of it — they're possibilities, to be used or left aside in service of the room you're imagining.
